Dawn Hoff (Klieforth)
Dawn M. Klieforth Hoff, 38, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 20, 2017, at her home. She was born in Frankford, Germany to a military mother, Lilly Klieforth Adair, who survives her. Dawn was the beloved wife of Thomas Douglas Hoff; the devoted mother of Allyson Hoff, Nikolaus Klieforth, and Carter Hoff. Other survivors include, her beloved aunt, Cecilia Mangini and her husband, Lewis; a sister, Melissa Adair, mother and father-in-law, Janet Lee and Doug ‘Grandy’ Hoff, and a host of extended family and dear friends, all who now hold her memory near.
Formerly of York County, before moving to Smithfield, Dawn graduated from Choppicon High School in Maryland. She was a Junior Mensa, a violinist virtuoso, and performed at the Kennedy Center. Dawn worked as an engineer-designer at Newport News Shipbuilding and developed a proven and lasting resource still used today at the shipyard. Most recently, Dawn organized a Fabric Swap group on Facebook, which allowed crafters to share their fabric with others throughout the world and share ideas and celebrate special days and events.
A service celebrating Dawn’s life will be held 3 pm, Thursday, December 28, 2017, in Colonial Funeral Home.
