Condolence From: Pat Terry
Condolence: My wife Mary and I send our deepest sympathy to you Shirley, Mary Lou, and Tommy on the loss of your husband and brother Ray, and also to his children and grandchildren. Ray's mother, Bessie, and my mother, Celestia, were sisters, so I and my brother Fred Terry were first cousins to Ray. Fred still lives on the family farm in Nelson County, Virginia. Growing up, our family was blessed with many a summer vacation spent at the wonderful Barlow farm in Smithfield as well as visits from Ray's family to our peach/apple farm in Nelson County. Fred and I immediately followed Ray to Virginia Tech, graduating in 1958 in Engineering. One summer during my college years Ray taught me to water ski on the James River. He was an excellent teacher for I was fairly good at the sport for a number of years in New Jersey. Over recent years we had the pleasure of seeing Ray, and sometimes Shirley, at various Navy events during our oldest son Kevin's Navy career. We will miss Ray very much; he was always a pleasure to be with.

Condolence: We are so very sorry for your lost. I have many memories associated with your family. Mrs Barlow did her best to instill the periodic table in my mind, Lynn was a memory with all the high school football games, and J.Ray was the "little brother" to many and such a sweet guy. While I'm sorry to say that I really don't recall ever meeting your husband/dad, I would have to say that if even a glimmer of his personality, values, fun and attitude came through you all...then he must have been a very special person.

Condolence: I was so sorry to hear about Ray. No trip to Virginia was complete without going to see Barlow relatives and your home was a very special place to visit. Hold tight to those special memories and let them fill your hearts and your faces with smiles.

Condolence: Sending love and prayers to you, Shirley, and your family during these difficult days. Sad, but relieved for both of you that Ray is no longer “suffering” , but in the arms of his Savior.

Condolence From: Nicole
Condolence: I'm truly sorry for the loss of your loved one. Losing a loved one is one of the most devastating experiences a family will face. May the many hugs caring thoughts and prayers be a source of comfort. The time will soon come when sickness pain and death will be a thing of the past, Revelation 21:4

Condolence: Joseph’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.
