Obituary for Drema Mackay
Drema Gaye Haley Mackay, 91, passed away peacefully at Riverside-Magnolia Manor, Smithfield, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 after an extended illness. Born in Fayette County, West Virginia, Drema Gaye was the daughter of the late Oather P. and Goldie Ferrell Spencer.
Drema Gaye leaves behind sons, Michael W. Haley and his wife Dianne, Rev. Dr. William H. Haley and his wife Fran, step-son Col. Richard L. Haley (US Army ret.) and his wife, Nancy; daughters, Judy Shematek and her husband Robert, Melanie Seward and her husband Jeffrey, step-daughter Shirley Devany and her husband Tom. Drema Gaye also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was an active member and Sunday School teacher at Crooks United Methodist Church in Yorktown for years. Drema was an avid reader and wonderful cook. She was a devoted mother.
Family and friends will gather at 12:30 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 for visitation, followed by a worship service at 1:30 pm in Colonial Funeral Home, Carrollton. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
