Curtis Oliver Drummond, 82, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017. Born in the Accomack, VA, Curtis grew up in Isle of Wight County. He was the son of the late Curtis Raymond and Lillian Irene Johnson Drummond. Curtis was a 1951 graduate of Smithfield High School, where played baseball and had an opportunity to play baseball in the major league. He served in the US Army, and came back to Battery Park to work in the family seafood business. He retired from SW Rawls Petroleum Company.
Remembered as a “special man” by close family and friends, Curtis is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carol W. Drummond; three daughters, Kathy Richardson , Karen Fletcher , Kimberly Perry; 2 sons, Kevin Drummond and Bart Drummond; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
In his pastime, Curtis was an avid fisherman and a fan of Yankees Baseball and the GreenBay Packers football team.
Family and friends will gather for visitation 6-7:30 pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home, Carrollton. A graveside funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, August 16, in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.
