Brian Leslie Pettit, age 62, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 28, 2017, unexpectedly and surrounded by his family. Born in Staunton, VA, April 6, 1954, Brian was the son of the late David H. and Margaret Wilson Pettit.
A beloved husband, dad, and granddad, Brian leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 26 years, Pamela Sue Narron Pettit; three daughters, Ashley A. Pettit, Leanne Nicole “Nikki” Goodrich, son-in-law, Lee Goodrich and granddaughter, Madison, whom he loved to the moon and back and (daughter) Brianne Graham; father-in-law James Ray Narron and brother-in-law, Danny Ray Narron, and a host of friends and extended family members.
Brian was a patient, kind, and generous man that would help anyone. Especially, if you needed you car worked on! Brian had been a an auto technician for 44 years, locally at Grafton Garage, York County and other local auto service shop in Hampton Roads. At the time of his death, Brian was working at AAA Auto Repair, Suffolk.
He’ll be remembered for the passion he shared with people who suffered with a drug and alcohol addiction at local AA meetings and with the Jail Ministry at City Farm, Newport News. He always wanted to give back to those around him as a way of showing his appreciation for the opportunities given him.
In his pastime, Brian loved being with family. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, as well as an avid NASCAR , Dale Earnhardt, and Carl Edwards fan.
Family and friends will gather for visitation 6-8 pm, Wednesday, Feb 1, 2017 at Colonial Funeral Home. A service celebrating Brian’s life will be held 11 am, Thursday, Feb. 2, in Healing Waters Worship Center, Carrollton, followed by interment in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
